  I've paid from $13 to $180....and I see no real big difference. I'm sticking to my $13 hair cut place....we cannot afford to be so wasteful nowadays.

  Why would anyone pay more than 20? I'm not frowning upon those that do, but seriously... why?

  I spend $21 a cut... but then I also drive 6 hours to get it cut... Well it's more like I go home to visit my parents and then I make time to go see my favorite Cosmotologist of all time... It's well worth it because she is the only person I trust with my hair...

  The most I've paid for a haircut was $50, and it was one of the best cuts I've had. But it was a drastic change and I don't think I would pay that much for a maintenance cut or trim.

  I had very long hair (mid back to below my waist) for years, and I think it is a bit of a scam that they charge extra for long hair cuts at the chain places. I would sit there and watch a short haired person get a complicated layered cut for less money than my simple blunt cut that took half the time. I can understand for dyes and highlights, because it is more involved and more product must be used, but for haircuts it seems like they are charging more for nothing.

  I agree with morgian13, if it is a drastic, complicated cut, I do pay more money, but for a trim, I pay just about $20, I went from super long, almost about my waist to a long bob, a little over my shoulders, and that was expensive, but never paid more than 20 to trim my super long hair...

  I pay $50, plus a $10-$15 tip. My husband's HC is about $35-$45 with a $10 tip. We have both tried cheaper haircuts, and EVERY time we do it, we regret it. Salons that can charge a premium for a haircut can do it because of their added training. Maybe if you have a simple, straight across haircut then you could go cheap, but I would never pay less than at least $30-$35 for a haircut (I've just had several horrible experiences with the cheaper places.).

  The last time I had a barber cut my hair I paid $0.75,,thought that was too much,,have cut my own hair since,,all my life,my hair was wavvy, full and curly,,never needed styling,,just clipping here and there,,85years later is is not as strong,or as curly as before,,,and it is beginning to thin some what,,,if it gets to where my scalp shows,I will use the clippers and become a burr head,,,I probably hated coiffures more than most of my wives did,,,my latest wife was so upset after paying $50 to the coiffeur,I would get out of the line of fire for a few hours WHILE SHE RE STYLED IT,,

  $50. BUT I have really fine hair that no other stylist/hairdresser/whatever has ever been able to do anything with for 20+ years. One time I was even given a perm that broke off all the hair above my forehead for about an inch. Felt like a cat's tounge! For me, it's worth paying a little extra to go to someone who knows exactly how to cut/style/color my hair, doesn't damage it, LISTENS to what I want, and can even make good suggestions on what looks flatter me. I get asked all the time, "who does your hair?" then, "is she taking new customers?" it looks that good. Sure she's pricey, but totally worth it!

  I pay just over 70, but I also only get it cut twice a year. The cut I get is worth the expense, because it allows me to go longer between haircuts.
