Forever 21 Dips Into the Beauty Market
partner
If
Forever 21’s recent venture into
swimwear went well with your shopping budget for summer, you’ll be
excited to know that they’ve got something even more
recessionista-friendly planned for Fall. Yes, that’s right, the
discounted retailer known for its ability to reproduce popular
designer styles and sell them at a fraction of the cost plans to
enter the beauty market later this year, according to
WWD. And with that whole
lawsuit business nearly behind them, there’s plenty of room to
rip off, er, “be inspired by,” prestige cosmetics already on the
market. (YSL, MAC—keep your legal teams on standby.)

That's great that Forever 21 will venture in the beauty market so its affordable for everyone. Yet, I would be cautious and probably not buy from them. I'm not sure if this is true, but I read in the LA Times a few years ago that they buy clothes from different vendors and place their brand on the clothes. If this is true, will they do the same for cosmetics? That's why I'm suspicious b/c some of these vendors are not true followers of code and conduct and sometimes use animals for testing. And, I hope they have a good QA process. After their products are out in the market and tested by the public with a good quality seal, I might consider it.

I will not be going to the local Forever 21. They're fashions are gross. I've been to other Forever 21 stores and they have cute things but the one in my area doesn't seem to want to follow this trend. The last time I bought a shirt from them it ripped in three places the first day I wore it. And yes it was my size no bigger no smaller and it fit in the dressing room. I also think Forever 21 is much to expensive for someone who has to pay bills, get gas etc. I doubt I will buy any of their makeup.

i think forever 21 is good for the economy but if it irritates your skin then your skin is really sensitive and it would be great if they allow us to return their beauty products

I also agree with kcarr912. I could wear a $5 dollar eye shadow and still make it look good. People think I'm wearing MAC but if they only knew. People tend to say that cheap eye shadow creases and MAC makeup doesn't, but all you need to do to fix that problem is buy a good primer. You will also need good brushes. Most people are dumb in thinking the more you pay the better, but your totally wrong. If you ever go to a good makeup artist he/she will tell you that any eye shadow will look good as long as you have the right brushes. As for foundation I can only wear bare minerals. Everything else makes me breakout bad even MAC!
