Forever 21 Dips Into the Beauty Market

If Forever 21’s recent venture into swimwear went well with your shopping budget for summer, you’ll be excited to know that they’ve got something even more recessionista-friendly planned for Fall. Yes, that’s right, the discounted retailer known for its ability to reproduce popular designer styles and sell them at a fraction of the cost plans to enter the beauty market later this year, according to WWD. And with that whole lawsuit business nearly behind them, there’s plenty of room to rip off, er, “be inspired by,” prestige cosmetics already on the market. (YSL, MAC—keep your legal teams on standby.)

I'd try their lip gloss and their eyeshadows... but my skin is so sensitive I'd probably avoid anything that could clog pores or give my skin a bad reaction. And yes, if you buy higher quality makeup, you can tell the difference (pigments stay on longer and brighter, your skin doesn't break out or look oily, and even the lip glosses and sticks don't have that NASTY taste that wet 'n wild lipsticks have), so I'll probably just stick to their deliciously cheap clothing line for the most part.

i love evrything in that store, but i do think that launching a makeup line is going a bit too far... it sounds kind of cheap to me...but good luck to them i just wouldn't use, i mean i'd rather spen more money and get an amazing product thats good for my skin (because i NEVER leave the house without makeup) then spen less money for a cehap product that will probably cause breakouts and such.. idk, thats just me though :)

oh and i do agree with KCARR912 they are right just becasue the makeup product is $100 doesn't mean that it will neccesarily go well with your skin tone, type, texture, moisture level, and or color. but i disagree with them on the point about M.A.C and other high profile products, sometimes the reason they are so expensive is becasue more work and/ or research ahs gone into them, but one has to try all different types and/or brand to finally figure out what a good product for them and their lifestyle, budget, and/or skin type is. but i still wouldn't use FOREVER 21 make up :) *+*PEACE*+*

well i wouldn't use makeup from forever 21 but i still think it's stupid how some of you automatically think that expensive makeup means better quality... i mean, in SOME instances that may be true, but not everything works that way. i don't really like wet n wild or nyc, but i do look at other drugstore brands like maybelline, neutrogena, & revlon. plus, how many people can actually afford makeup from chanel or MAC? so no thank you, i don't want to go bankrupt buying a whole bunch of expensive makeup. and for those of you out there who can afford those brands, one day you'll wake up and realize you're wasting a bunch of money on something that you can get for cheaper at drugstores.

I agree! It's not the price that matters, it's the quality. I like using L'Oreal's HIP eyeshadows and Cover Girl's LashBlast mascara.

Also, I have quite a bit of clothes from Forever 21. The only thing I hate about Forever 21 is that it's so cheaply made. I always lose buttons and/or I end up wearing a ripped shirt. <sigh> I'm a victim to Forever 21 because of the unique "ripoff" styles they offer for their customers who can't afford the real thing!

    Ew.

Forever 21 is a disgustingly cheap place with cheap quality. I guess you get what you pay for. I would never buy anything from that store. Especially makeup. It's probably loaded with pore-clogging mineral oil.

    ewwwww.

I love Forever 21's clothing and fashion but I'm not sure about makeup. I agree though that expensive make up is a rip off IMO. I like the drug store brands and I get closeout eye shadows at dollar tree. If I like the shade I buy as many as I can and stock up. I can't afford MAC and all those fancy lines.
