Dear celebrities: We're bored of your "shocking" hair changes

Some celebrities, like Amy Winehouse, Donald Trump or even Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, have famous 'dos they'll never change. But have you noticed that some stars change their hair about as frequently as they change their underwear? And we're not talking about a little casual highlighting or texture experimentation with a styling tool. Some ladies go short, long, dark, blonde, and dark again all within one month's time!

We all know women who love changing up their look, and it doesn't have to be solely for attention--sometimes it's just fun! But the fact that so many stars change their hair over and over again makes us wonder if it's a deliberate publicity move since they now realize media outlets are likely to report on it. (How many times have you read a story about some celebrity's "shocking new 'do"?) But they have the cash, and access to the best stylists and colorists in the world, so why not, right?

It's funny to think that Jennifer Aniston, who has had the same hairstyle (though beautiful) for years, was once infamous for "The Rachel" and thousands of imitators. Perhaps some overzealous hairdressers out there are dying to make their mark with the next "it" haircut, and thus continue to experiment on their A-list clients.

And then of course there are the "statement" haircuts like Solange, who took on a drastic style with an accompanying message. She wanted to be free of her hair. Well, it was a bolder move than Tyra!

Ladies of Hollywood: We have seen it all. Kim Kardashian, we are not impressed or even really interested if you decide to go blonde for a week. We're all for testing out new styles, and even encourage it, as we can then cut out your photos of the hair we like and take them to salon with us to show our hairdressers. But if you're looking to evoke a strong reaction, well, you may have to go the route of Britney Spears circa '07 and suddenly buzz it all off yourself.

Haha, this article is really clever. I agree that it's obvious most celebrities are out for attention, it's ridiculous. Although I wasn't aware that Jessica Alba dyed her hair, I hope she isn't doing it in a desperate attemp for attention.

I drastically change my haircolor all the time. I am always coming home with a different color. Am I out for attention too? No, of course not. Its their hair, let them have their fun!

Dang, why did Solange's hair have to be compared to Tyra's hair? That was unnecessary, the writer of this article already stated her view on Tyra's hair in her recent article.

The celebrities don't call their hair changes "shocking" the media does, they're just trying to have fun like any other girl does with their hair. Stop worrying so much about them, even if it is for attention, who cares?

if you dont want to read about their hair, then dont read the tabloids! some of the actresses that dye their hair are doing it for acting roles. and the ones that just dye their hair to dye it are having fun. they arent writing the tabloids, and if there are articles about celebrities hair its because people read it. how do you know they are just trying to get attention?

Some people chose to wear their hair as an acessory and it's their hair so get over it.

Joanna, you come with the most asinine things to write about. Celebs are regular people in that they like change...who doesn't? The difference is that they have the money to change whatever whenever they want about themselves, including their hair. And why do you keep harping on Tyra? Did Tyra need to cut all her hair off in order to be "bold"?

Why did you include Alba? Sure, she's gone through a few color changes, but nothing "shocking" or "drastic". There are a few out their who do change their hair alot for attention--but they're rarely the A-listers. And who cares anyway?

hey wait, it says in Joanna's little "About Me" section that she dislikes "haters".....but most of her blogs are geared toward disapproval and whining about celebrities. Isn't that hating?

    Hello?
