I am the Executive Director of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, where I'm working to advance and promote dietary guidelines for all Americans. Prior to my position with the USDA, I was a Professor of Marketing at the Cornell University School of Business conducting research focused on why we eat the way we do. Most recently, I published a book called "Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think" (Bantam 2006) and have been featured on 20/20, 60 Minutes, The Today Show, and in the Washington Post, New York Times, and USA Today.
