    As Wall Street plummets and, avalanche-like, takes out the jobs and wealth of so many bankers, so plummeteth the hopes and (self-absorbed) dreams of certain girlfriends.

    It has become so horrific, that said girls have resorted to forming a Dating a Banker Anonymous group, according to an article in the The New York Times .

    Said one newlywed bride of a private wealth banker whose fortunes have turned, "It's not what I signed up for." Apparently she excised the portion of the classic wedding vows where it goes, "for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer," at her November 2008 wedding.     The high temp today is -5 (Fahrenheit) and falling toward -15. Fearing my face will crack, I'm staying in. I could set the thermostat at 72 degrees, but it's at 64.
