I need as much advice as possible -- especially from those with resources that may help me. I am looking at purchasing a bridal store in my town. The pros would be it is an established business (25 years), has a great reputation, and very little competition (nearest bridal store is half hour away).
The main con would be the owner pays herself very little. But she has only owned it for four years and not done very much in the way of advertising or growing the business. The previous owner (for 17 years) supported herself with the business. The other con is that in the last two years I have bought a house, a car, and new furniture (on credit) for the entire house, so needless to say my debt to income ratio is not what a lender would want to see.
