We Dont Need Another Hero -- weve already got Tina Turner on the scene. This amazing songstress began belting out the tunes and showing off her moves while still in high school in St. Louis, Missouri, in the 1950s. Teaming up with Ike Turner, she started as a backup singer of his band, which soon became simply the Ike and Tina Turner act. The two married and toured the U.S., earning popularity and an opening act gig with the Rolling Stones in 1969. While their music careers were reaching great heights, however, their marriage began crumbling, as Ike began to show his domineering (read: violent) side. In 1975, Tina walked out on Ike and into a wildly successful solo career. Battling her way back to the top of the charts, she made it big with several hits, including Private Dancer, Simply The Best, Whats Love Got to Do With It and We Dont Need Another Hero. With a successful autobiography that was later adapted for a big box-office movie (also titled Whats Love Got to Do With It, starring Angela Bassett and Lawrence Fishburne), Tina Turner has become an American icon.

With her Sun shining in Sagittarius, Turner is an enthusiastic, outspoken and adventurous woman. Shes in tune with the bigger picture and has a philosophical bent. The basic truths in life are what a true Sagittarian seeks, and Turner has infectious optimism to boot. Dont fence this woman in! She needs the freedom to roam and pursue her own path. Along the way, idealism may color her view and she could get pushy when it comes to carrying out her agenda.

The Planet of Communication, Mercury, also finds itself keeping house with Sagittarius. Mercury in Sag marks someone who isnt afraid to pipe up but might speak a bit too quickly without thinking over her words first. Small talk is for other folks, not for Turner; for her, its the bigger truths in life, especially philosophy and spirituality, that are the subjects of chatter that matter. With her Mercury Square Neptune, Turner doesnt always speak realistically; instead, she may talk a big game, have big dreams and is a good storyteller with a flair for grasping the intangible. Her Mercury is also making a Sextile to the Planet of Good Fortune, Jupiter, which signals a person who voices their faith and philosophy to others.

Her Venus in Scorpio tells us exactly what loves got to do with it. The Planet of Love plus the Sign of Sex equals sizzling sex appeal -- and with that incredible voice plus legs up to there, Turners got it. Shes also tremendously determined, loyal and devoted in a relationship but may lash out against any lover who mistreats her -- as in the case of former husband Ike, and very appropriately so. Her Scorpionic devotion to a lover may also shed some light on the length of her relationship with Ike. However, this is a focused, passionate and strong woman who may be appear subordinate at first but will have the edge in the end. With Venus Square Jupiter, shell enjoy comfort but may be extravagant and even excessive, particularly in expressions of affection. Her Venus also Sextiles Neptune, the Planet of Illusion, and adds a rose-colored haze to relationships. Fantasy and make-believe could cloud her vision of her mate.

With Mars, the Planet of Passion, lying in balance-oriented Libra, Turner is motivated by peace, harmony and justice. Diplomatic, she avoids confrontation, preferring cooperation instead. Ruled by Venus, the Planet of Beauty, Libra also speaks to charm, comfort and luxury. Turner wants to be surrounded by Simply the Best in her life. Her Venus Square Jupiter further accents this desire for beauty and splendor, perhaps, at times, to excess.
