John F. Kennedy was the youngest man ever to be elected President of the United States. He was also the youngest president ever to be assassinated. The intrigue behind his life, loves and early death remain a hot topic of conversation, even decades later. Behind the conspiracy theories and illicit affairs, who was this man? Perhaps the Stars can give us an idea ...

Born under a Gemini Sun, Kennedy could always see every side of a story. When he was in the House of Representatives, though his district contained mostly Democrats, he would occasionally veer toward Republican thought if he decided that was best. Highly intellectual, its no surprise that the former president was also a Harvard man, and his intelligence was always apparent. In high school, though he definitely didnt graduate at the top of his class, he was still voted most likely to succeed.

Succeed he did, perhaps thanks to his Virgo Moon, which lends an influence quite different from that of flighty Gemini. This placement is one of restraint and inhibition, in certain respects. Not likely to be the life of the party, Kennedy still made himself heard. In work (and probably hygiene!), he had a very strict, impeccable routine. As a citizen, he was upstanding. His habits put him beyond reproach, from his participation in school athletics to his time in the Navy to a life in public office.

Or so it was thought. With his Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter in the 8th House of Sex, Kennedy was far from perfect. Romantically linked with such ladies as Marilyn Monroe, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Marlene Dietrich, Kennedys romantic life far outstepped the bounds of traditional marriage vows. The Eighth House also rules death and rebirth, which Kennedy experienced a lot of in his life, from his older brothers death in World War II to the loss of his youngest child shortly after its birth to his own early death. He went through quite a bit of rebirth, too: He often suffered from health problems and illnesses, but always pulled through them. Though he rose steadily through the ranks in his political career, he was constantly diversifying his politics and trying new things.

With Mercury, Mars and Jupiter in Taurus, the Bull was a big influence in his life. His success counted on this steady drive and determination. He overcame some severe obstacles to get where he was and stay there. Kennedys Planet of Communication tempered his prudence. He did not speak too intellectually or too foolishly, but in a personable way that allowed him to be understood by millions. The Passion Planets placement in the Sign of the Bull explains his late start in politics. Unlike many politicians who were groomed for the job from birth, this man traveled, fought and wrote all before he began his official political career. The Bull may be slow to get going, but once it does, theres no stopping it.

Even with all that persistence, though, JFK was eventually stopped -- not by the Bull, but by a bullet. Though controversy still surrounds that occurrence, conspiracy theories and whatnot all seem rather unimportant when looking at the life of the former president. Though one cant be sure what would have been his destiny had he lived, five Fixed Planets indicate that it would have been more of the same -- his dogged determination and common-sense grounding would have kept him on top. As when the country lost Martin Luther King, Jr., the loss of John F. Kennedy was the loss of a great thinker and leader who did more good than most.
